Zulily Banners
Production design work
2022-23

As a production designer at Zulily, an online shopping company, my daily tasks consisted of designing high-volume and fast-paced on-site graphics. The following examples are some of the on-site banners and accompanied assets that I created during my time at the company.
1. Primary site banners
   • 1-2 new banners are released on the site every morning; these were our main priority

Process:
We are given images from the merch team. Our job is to pick the best image(s) to feature on the banner, intending to create a hero moment, and combine with text from the copy team.

Let's go through an example of one of these banners for a Crocs sale event:

Once I choose which image I want to feature from merch, the design process begins. It's important to keep in mind the brand being showcased. In this instance, Crocs is a playful, and energetic brand full of fun. Sometimes, we need to supplement the existing photo with stock images if the background needs to be swapped out. For this project, I added some clouds for some extra pizzazz.

Our team used a process of internal reviews then to final merch reviews. We did this using exported pdf reels of our final designs as a preview for the reviewers. As an example, this is a project for LEGO.
